By using expert services like ours you can expand your options and find the most suitable deals available to you. Even if you can't get a mortgage at the moment, we at Henry James Mortgages Ltd can help you to formulate a plan which makes it possible in the future.
Can I Get a Mortgage After Bankruptcy?
Yes, but you need to talk to expert lenders; most high-street institutions and banks will be reluctant to offer you credit and will charge a high rate of interest. However, if you have been discharged for a year or more, you will find that there are many experts who will be willing to extend credit with a maximum LTV of 85%.
Once you have been discharged for four years or more your rates will be different! It is likely, however, that lenders will wish to know the reason for your bankruptcy, so you should be prepared to disclose that information.
Getting a mortgage when you have been in serious financial difficulty is not easy; the more time that passes, the more likely your chances, and your rates, will be. Of course, waiting isn't always an option.
